REPORTS TO:
Technical & Engineering Manager

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

We are seeking a technically capable Project Engineer to support the delivery of prefabricated mechanical and electrical plantroom projects. This role will focus on coordination of technical deliverables, submittals, vendor information, and project documentation, playing a vital support role for the Engineering Manager and Project Manager.

TEAM FUNCTION:

With the growth of data centres and district heating this market is likely to grow significantly over the next years.

We have a team that are out getting ourselves specified, working around technical challenges and selling the products.

The team create special designs to support quotations through to as-built drawings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in producing and managing technical documentation including:
    • P&IDs, layout drawings, schedules, data sheets, and submittals.
  • Review vendor and supplier documentation for compliance with project requirements.
  • Track and respond to technical queries (RFIs), action logs, and interface issues.
  • Liaise with procurement and fabrication teams to ensure technical alignment.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and fabricators on drawing approvals and material requirements.
  • Maintain project document control in line with internal systems.
  • Participate in inspections, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and final quality checks.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • 2-5 years in a project engineering or mechanical coordination role within M&E, HVAC, or plantroom delivery.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems, process piping, and equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, valves, etc.
  • Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors in a technical capacity.
  • Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, piping schematics, and fabrication models.
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and mechanical fabrication standards.
  • Exposure to modular construction or prefabricated systems.
  • Experience supporting technical submissions and handover documentation.
  • Previous experience in modular construction, plantroom skids, or off-site MEP manufacturing.

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Able to manage multiple disciplines and suppliers within tight timelines.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage technical documentation.
