Job Description

Role Summary


Join a forward-thinking engineering team at the forefront of modern shipbuilding and vessel conversion. As a Project Engineer, you'll contribute to high-impact maritime projects, including the modernization of landing craft and the design of next-generation auxiliary vessels up to 90 meters in length.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you'll serve as a key link between engineering disciplines, suppliers, and project stakeholders-ensuring smooth technical execution from concept through to delivery.

This is a secondment position for an initial period of 1 year, with potential extension to a total of 1 year and 7 months.



Main Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver tailored technical solutions for shipbuilding and conversion projects.
  • Draft specifications, review technical documentation, evaluate supplier quotations, and oversee implementation of selected systems.
  • Ensure that engineering outputs meet all relevant quality, performance, and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with in-house experts across mechanical, electrical, and integrated system domains.
  • Act as a technical liaison, reporting to the team lead and engaging closely with both internal departments and external partners.



Experience and Qualifications


Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Shipbuilding (HTS) or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Proven experience in maritime engineering or shipbuilding projects.
  • Hands-on expertise with:
  • Methanol or alternative fuel systems
  • Engineering software such as Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Cadmatic, or Catia
  • AutoCAD and PIAS
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary, project-driven environments.
  • Fluency in Dutch (spoken and written).


Desirable:

  • Experience with government or defense-related shipbuilding projects.



Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must either hold or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance.
