To grow our engineering consultancy in Ireland, we are seeking a Project Director to lead our infrastructure projects. You'll work with the Head of Ireland, UK Heads of Discipline, UK Heads of Sector and Market Directors to deliver growth, ensuring we have the right skills and number of people in the business to deliver backlog and pipeline and meet current and future needs of your sector.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leadership in business development by building and developing client relationships, to secure future work with new and existing clients.
  • Leadership of project delivery be it civil, structural and geotechnical engineers across our infrastructure disciplines plus any other multi discipline teams engaged on projects.
  • Responsibility for growing scope and services provided on current projects Contract review and negotiation.
  • Key account and project client management.
  • Preparing bids, including fee proposals, technical responses, programmes, tender designs, risk screenings and bid submission notes.
  • Meeting project financial, schedule, quality and client satisfaction goals.
  • Contributing to regular month-end closure activities including project estimates and resolving project overruns.
  • Provide sparring support to PMs on your projects, and provide a senior point of escalation for customers above PM.
  • Planning and operating assigned design projects within your portfolio, including risk management, interface management & resource management.
  • Support the UK&I Heads of Discipline in aligning the capability and capacity of your office team with the current and future needs of the wider discipline team, and in ensuring the effective utilisation of their time and skills day-to-day.
  • Support in the recruitment of new employees into your teams as a hiring manager, in alignment with the discipline growth strategy.

  • Possess Chartered status or APM PMQ (or equivalent)
  • Efficient leadership skills and demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate teams across our local, regional and international offices.
  • Proven experience operating as a Lead Client contact for consultancy services and to further enhance our partnerships and market presence.
  • Experience as an effective people leader, able to communicate effectively, engage and lead a team of civil, structural and tunnel engineers, supporting their performance and professional development.
  • Significant experience guiding project teams and handling the technical delivery of projects, either as client's or contractor's designer Project management experience within infrastructure design and delivery with ability to transfer these skillsets to execute delivery on other sector portfolios if / as required.
  • Experience and ability to see linear infrastructure projects through from concept to completion within a professional service environment
  • Extensive business acumen coupled with solid technical skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to suit project needs
  • Innovative and creative mindset.
  • Clean Driving Licence
