Project Director - Critical Infrastructure (Portugal)

Join a market-leading main contractor delivering major critical infrastructure projects across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the USA. With decades of expertise and a strong track record, we specialise in complex, large-scale builds, including data centers, cable landing stations, and other high-security facilities.

We are seeking a Project Director to take ownership of high-profile projects in Portugal. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring strategic oversight, operational excellence, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure flawless execution of time-sensitive, mission-critical developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of major infrastructure projects (data centers, cable landing stations, critical facilities) from planning through to completion.

  • Define and drive project strategies, ensuring alignment with client and business objectives.

  • Oversee programme delivery, budgets, and risk management at every stage.

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, contractors, and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with the highest safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Act as the senior client interface, maintaining trusted relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Champion innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence across projects.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in large-scale construction project management, with at least 5 in a senior leadership or Project Director role.

  • Proven track record in delivering complex projects such as data centers, cable landing stations, or mission-critical facilities.

  • Strong knowledge of critical MEP systems, power infrastructure, and high-tech build environments.

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering.

  • Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or Data Center Specialist) advantageous.

  • Experience delivering projects across multiple European locations.

  • Outstanding leadership, commercial, and communication skills.
