Job Description- Source and procure materials and components for industrial and manufacturing projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to improve value for the business.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand and fulfil material requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues impacting project timelines or budgets.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry regulations.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages.
A successful Project Buyer should have:
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain within the industrial engineering or manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and tools.
- Knowledge of industry-specific materials and components.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and cost optimisation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to read technical drawings is desirable.
- A competitive salary of up to £45,000, depending on experience.
