We are seeking an accomplished Programme Planning Manager with extensive experience in large-scale programme delivery. This role is central to ensuring that programme activities are fully aligned, dependencies are managed, and the business is prepared for successful implementation.

The Programme Planning Manager will be responsible for maintaining robust integrated plans, coordinating across complex workstreams, and proactively identifying risks and issues before they impact delivery. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to the business, applying a collaborative but assertive approach to keep delivery on track while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

The role:

  • Programme Planning & Delivery

    • Develop, maintain, and assure high-quality integrated programme and implementation plans.

    • Coordinate delivery activities across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment with programme objectives.

    • Ensure readiness across all areas, including testing environments, technical teams, and business functions.

    • Track progress against milestones and hold workstream leads accountable for timely delivery.

  • Dependency Management

    • Identify, map, and monitor interdependencies across the programme.

    • Anticipate risks associated with delivery sequencing and resource alignment.

    • Escalate and resolve conflicts or constraints impacting delivery schedules.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

    • Act as the focal point between delivery teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

    • Facilitate governance, planning, and implementation forums, ensuring effective decisions are reached.

    • Provide concise, accurate reporting on progress, risks, and dependencies.

  • Risk & Issue Resolution

    • Proactively identify risks and potential delivery challenges.

    • Conduct in-depth analysis and deep dives to resolve complex issues.

    • Drive ownership of corrective actions and ensure sustainable resolutions.

Key Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Proven experience in Programme/PMO planning and delivery within complex change environments.

  • Strong expertise in dependency mapping, integrated planning, and implementation readiness.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple, parallel workstreams in large-scale programmes.

  • Proficiency in Agile delivery methodologies.

  • Proven capability to engage, influence, and challenge stakeholders constructively at all levels.

  • Collaborative approach, with a strong ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Results-driven, resilient, and pragmatic, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure.

  • Previous experience in Implementation Planning or Business Readiness roles.

  • Direct involvement in cutover planning and readiness assessments.

  • Strong facilitation skills, particularly in leading planning and implementation meetings.
