Job Description

A well known university based in London is seeking to recruit X2 Programme Managers on a permanent basis.

These Programme Manager roles sit within the Estates & Facilities Directorate, reporting into the Director of Capital Projects. The roles will oversee the planning, governance and delivery of major capital and strategic programmes across the university's estate, including new build and refurbishment projects.

The successful candidates will play a key role in driving programme delivery excellence, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to the institution's long-term strategic objectives. Working across multiple stakeholders, you will lead programme governance, oversee project performance, and support project teams and external partners to deliver complex estates developments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of major capital programmes across the university estate
  • Implementing robust programme governance, reporting and risk management frameworks
  • Managing multiple projects and workstreams to ensure successful delivery against time, cost and quality objectives
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the university and with external partners
  • Providing leadership and support to project managers, consultants and contractors
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, regulatory and procurement requirements
  • Driving continuous improvement and best practice across programme and project delivery

About you:

  • Significant experience delivering complex capital programmes within estates, construction or the built environment
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior decision makers
  • Must be comfortable with board settings and to present to senior stakeholders when required
  • Proven ability to manage programme governance, risk and performance frameworks
  • Degree educated with a relevant professional qualification (eg APM, PRINCE2, MSP, MRICS, MCIOB or similar)
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Experience in higher education or the public sector would be advantageous
