Role: Programme Leader - Choices

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £49,767 - £51,480 FTE

Pension contribution: 28.68% FTE

Location: Cheadle College, SK8 5HA

The Trafford and Stockport College Group (TSCG) is seeking an experienced Programme Leader for our Choices provision, contributing to our vision of unlocking potential for successful futures.

About The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Programme Leader for our Choices provision based at Cheadle campus.

Key deliverables
  • Strategically lead and manage the Choices programme area, ensuring high -quality teaching, learning and support that delivers strong outcomes in attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
  • Coordinate and manage programmes as agreed with the Director of Curriculum, including an agreed teaching commitment and effective management of financial and physical resources.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Curriculum and Assistant Principal to shape and implement a high-quality, inclusive curriculum offer for learners with complex needs, ensuring provision remains ambitious, responsive and sector-leading.
  • Ensure learners benefit from sequenced, meaningful learning experiences that build knowledge, independence and employability skills, preparing them effectively for adulthood and sustained destinations.
  • Secure outcomes for learners across the programme, including attendance, retention, progress, achievement, destinations and student feedback
  • Ensure effective mechanisms are in place to monitor and maximise all student progress and use data and learner insight to identify learners at risk and implement targeted interventions
  • Evaluate the impact of interventions to drive continuous improvement
  • Support and lead self-assessment, course review and quality improvement planning
  • Support recruitment activity and maintain learner numbers
  • Develop partnerships with SEND schools, employers and external agencies
  • Ensure access to meaningful external opportunities that build employability and independence
  • Work with employers and partner organisations to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with the local skills need and embedding partnerships and collaborative working
About you
  • We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our students
  • You should have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people with SEND aged 16-24 and be knowledgeable about appropriate curriculum available to support their next steps in learning and their progression
  • Your experience in SEND and in a Choices setting, along with your ability to help students achieve their goals will be crucial in this role
  • You should possess excellent written skills, including spelling, grammar, and the ability to write concisely and accurately. Your ability to lead teams working with diverse groups of learners and develop innovation in teaching in learning is essential
  • You will be a role model for our students, demonstrating the values of ambition, resilience, collaboration, inclusivity, and respect
  • In addition, you should have the ability to challenge learners appropriately, set targets, monitor progress, and develop strategies to support their retention, attendance, and achievement
  • Your well-developed communication skills and ability to lead, and high standards empathise and provide to young people will be key to your success in this role.
