Your role in elevating the East Midlands

You will be part of the Adult Skills Programmes team, which is responsible for £60+ million spent annually via commissioned learning organisations. In this key role you will help with the delivery of the Adult Skills Fund (ASF), Free Courses for jobs, Skills Bootcamps and other adult skills programmes across our region.

You will use your experience of project management methodology to plan and deliver projects to agreed standards, timescales and budgets with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the progress of a project or workstream against agreed and documented time and budget targets while ensuring appropriate quality standards are maintained.
  • Initiating, developing and maintaining a suite of appropriate key project documents, to provide evidence of outputs, outcomes, methods of delivery and project benefits.
  • Facilitating system improvements and development to map current and future processes.
  • Regular reviews of the project or workstream plan, identifying risks/ issues of delivery being/ going off track and/ or potential non-compliance.
  • Collation, analysis and interpretation of information from project leads and other stakeholders to provide management information.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and other project leads to manage appropriate resourcing, including specialist support needs.
  • Producing clear, accurate mapping of current and future activities to support business change and ensure stakeholder engagement and buy-in.
  • Actively contribute to the development of the team, sharing knowledge, mentoring, and learning to increase the effectiveness of the service.

Your profile:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with a project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile etc) and evidence of continued professional development.
  • Considerable experience of project management and support at all stages from initiation to project closure across projects of varying scale and complexity.
  • Experience working in a service improvement, change management or organisational development role, preferably within a large multifaceted organisation.
  • Experience of supporting large scale/complex projects with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
  • An understanding of effective financial management.
  • Well-developed change management skills and the ability to manage cultural change, often in the face of resistance
  • Able to analyse financial, numerical, and other information, to understand complex issues to identify actions required.
  • Able to work effectively both as a team member and independently.
