Job Description

Do you enjoy solving complex technical problems, keeping critical systems running safely and knowing your work really matters? This is a hands on Control and Instrumentation maintenance role where your expertise helps protect people, plant and the wider environment, every single day.

You will join a highly skilled, supportive maintenance team within a tightly regulated nuclear environment. Safety comes first, standards are high, and teamwork is essential. In return, you will work predictable daytime hours over a four day week, Monday to Thursday, giving you long weekends and strong work life balance while contributing to a nationally important mission.

What will you be doing

You will maintain, fault find and improve control and instrumentation systems across the site, ensuring plant reliability, compliance and safe operation. Your work will cover both preventative and corrective maintenance, with a strong focus on quality, documentation and engineering judgement. You will work independently when needed, while also supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge within the team.

Your key focus will include:

  • Maintaining, calibrating and repairing process instrumentation such as pressure, flow, temperature and level systems, including PLC control and alarms.
  • Investigating plant faults, identifying root causes and proposing robust, practical engineering solutions, supported by clear written reporting.
  • Working strictly to health, safety, environmental, quality and site licence requirements, following work instructions, procedures and best practice at all times.
  • Supporting site objectives across Sizewell A and Bradwell, including communication of findings, meeting maintenance plans and contributing to emergency arrangements when required.
Who are we looking for

You are a Control and Instrumentation maintenance professional who takes pride in working to a high standard and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. You are comfortable working in a highly regulated environment, understand the importance of compliance and documentation, and can apply logical fault finding under pressure. You communicate clearly, support team learning and remain customer focused in how you approach your work.

You will need a recognised technical qualification at Level 3, such as City and Guilds or BTEC ONC, along with proven hands on experience in Control and Instrumentation maintenance. You should be confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings, carrying out fault diagnosis and working with modern maintenance techniques. Experience in the nuclear industry is welcomed but not essential, what matters most is your safety mindset, technical capability and ability to work effectively on your own or as part of a performing team.
