Tasks & ResponsibilitiesAs a Production Operative, you will join our blade factory on the Isle of Wight, working alongside skilled and motivated colleagues to manufacture high-quality products in accordance with established procedures, documentation, and quality standards.
- Building blades in accordance with the production plan
- Manufacturing products to the required quality standards using the latest controlled documentation issued by Vestas
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work area
- Looking after tools and equipment within your work area
- Following safe working practices and encouraging colleagues to do the same
- Performing lay-up of materials (carbon fibre and glass fibre) in moulds according to lay-up plans
- Applying bonding materials as required
- Using power tools for trimming and grinding to meet the required finish
- Preparing material kits for fellow operatives
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including quality improvements and Takt Time reduction activities
This role operates on a fixed rotating shift pattern within our 24/7 manufacturing environment:
- 4 days on, 4 days off: 06:45 - 19:00 (Day Shift)
- 4 nights on, 4 days off: 18:45 - 07:00 (Night Shift)
Each shift is 12.25 hours in duration.
Skills & ExperienceOur ideal colleague enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
You may hold formal qualifications such as NVQ, HNC, HND, or City & Guilds, or simply demonstrate a solid work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to developing your skills.
