Job Description

The post will be based at Heck Q, Kirklington, Bedale. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very busy food preparation crew at a thriving food manufacturing factory. As a food processing worker, you would usually work on a fast-moving production line, which has food passing along on conveyor belts, through different stages such as mixing etc.

Main duties include but are not limited to:
  • working in a busy and clean working environment
  • checking and controlling the machinery that processes the food
  • keeping the workplace clean and tidy and fulfil the housekeeping and hygiene after the daily production
  • when problem or incident occur with the production process, you shall stop the machine and report to your supervisor immediately
  • overall protective clothes, boots, hairnet, beard masks and all PPE will be provided for this site
  • previous experience in a production environment is desirable but we will also consider applicants from other walks of life who can demonstrate they have the capability to work in this type of role.
Hourly Rate:
  • Hourly rate will start from £11.52

Essential:
  • flexible and open to additional hours at busier periods of production
  • Driving license
Hours of work and benefits:
  • Core hours working Monday to Friday, around 40 Hours per week with the occasional Saturday working.
  • Working hours can vary due to the demands of the business and production targets e.g. finish times will vary due to production targets for that day
  • 28 days holiday per annum (including bank holidays)
  • Free lunch provided daily

Skills and qualities:

To be a production line worker you should have:

  • the ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • a good understanding of health and safety and basic hygiene rules
  • report to the factory supervisor or quality controller if you spot any issues
  • the ability to maintain concentration for repetitive tasks
  • accuracy and attention to detail
  • good team working skills and the ability to work individually
  • a willingness to work flexibly due to the timetable
  • Ability to speak and understand English - desirable but not essential

This is a very physically demanding role which requires a keen eye for detail to maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness and hygiene.
