PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £50,000 p.a. depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Ensure collaboration and transparency between Production and Editorial leads, building good relationships across the team.
  • Manage day-to-day resources, including editorial headcount, recruitment and staff scheduling.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, budget management and production plans in a dynamic environment.
  • Manage Safeguarding practices and adhere to BBC policy across the production.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement, implementing workflows such as business reviews.
  • Lead and develop a team of production management staff, fostering efficiency and consistency across the department.
  • Promote a creative, inclusive culture to attract, retain, and grow talent.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager with experience of working on a range of content.
  • Excellent people management and team leadership skills across diverse teams.
  • A good working knowledge of BBC Terms and Conditions, HR processes and systems; scheduling and the rota management of large editorial teams and the management of headcount to match budget.
  • A clear understanding of end-to-end multi-platform production processes and thrives in a fast paced, content delivery focussed environment.
  • A thorough knowledge of Safeguarding and risk management and appropriate procedures to manage productions including mitigating and flagging risks.
  • Outstanding business and financial understanding to create, forecast and manage significant production resources and budgets as well as managing, mitigating and flagging where appropriate production risks.
  • Understanding of studio management and self op edits are advantageous.
