We are currently recruiting a Production Manager on behalf of a well-established quarrying and construction materials business based in Co. Mayo.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production or operations professional to lead the day-to-day running of a busy quarry operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production activities, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining the highest safety standards and leading a dedicated production team.
The role would suit candidates with experience in quarrying, aggregates, concrete, precast, construction materials, heavy manufacturing or industrial production.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day production and operational activities of the quarry.
- Lead, motivate and develop production, plant and operational teams.
- Ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and within budget.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Monitor plant performance and maximise operational efficiency.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to minimise downtime and improve productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, environmental and quarry regulations.
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage stock levels of aggregates and finished materials.
- Produce operational and production reports for senior management.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with transport, sales and commercial teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Support investment in new equipment and production improvements where required.
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Quarry Manager or Manufacturing Manager.
- Experience within quarrying, aggregates, construction materials, concrete, precast or heavy manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and people management experience.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and environmental compliance.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing production costs and KPIs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
- Full clean driving licence.
