Job Description
- Production Manager -
Purpose: To co-ordinate work to ensure that all parts are manufactured correctly in the most accurate, timely and efficient manner, whilst ensuring a trained and motivated team are working to all company procedures. To continually improve product output and quality in line with our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Line Management: This role reports into the General Manager and has line management responsibility for the Production Team.
Role Duties- Plan and delegate priorities on a daily basis as appropriate.
- Manage sickness absence and attendance including authorise holiday requests and arrange any additional cover.
- Ensure team members have sufficient training to fulfil their roles, to cover absent team members and manage flexible working demands.
- Adhere to all documented Quality Procedures.
- Set and run machinery safely (inclusive of sliding and fixed head CNCs machines, with Fanuc controls, lathes, drilling/tapping).
- Carry out first off and job run inspection of machined parts.
- Co ordinate and report on monthly production KPIs.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to ensure all parts are manufactured in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage and action any machine maintenance.
- Accountable for Tooling Reps and ensure shop floor is well equipped and support necessary tooling sales and orders.
- Ensure all KPI targets are met in order to achieve profitability (On Time Deliveries, Arrears Management & Quality targets).
- Comply with UFCs mission, values, quality systems and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and inspiring working environment.
- Take an active part in interviewing and assessing new team members.
- To keep the General Manager informed and updated regularly, especially if any critical problems arise.
- Identify and offer suggestions to improve efficiencies within production.
- Raise concerns regarding undesirable conditions within the organisation and propose potential solutions for improvement.
- Assist the Factory Management team with reasonable ad hoc requests.
As a member of the management team you are also expected to:
- Pursue a culture of right first time within your team.
- Manage, lead and control your team to drive forward continuous improvements, identifying development opportunities for the team and individuals.
- Ensure high standards of discipline are maintained and manage any issues that require disciplinary action.
- Identify training needs for your team and ensure these are provided.
- Oversee attendance, holidays etc., to ensure cover is provided in your area at all times.
- Ensure roles are communicated and clearly understood.
- Actively participate and prepare for regular management meetings.
In addition to the task above as a staff member of the company you are also expected to:
- Maintain regular consistent attendance and punctuality.

- Maintain a flexible approach.
