THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Manager to lead and oversee AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) or complex engineering production activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of products to quality and cost requirements. This role requires strong leadership, planning, and cross-functional collaboration to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day production operations, ensuring delivery to cost, schedule, and quality targets.
- Manage production teams and resources, allocating workloads and priorities to meet programme demands.
- Develop, implement, and monitor production plans and schedules in coordination with Planning and Project teams.
- Monitor and control KPIs such as throughput, efficiency, quality, and resource utilisation.
- Identify and address bottlenecks, risks, and blockers, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Oversee budget, materials, and equipment utilisation to support production goals.
- Lead and support governance reviews, audits, and customer reporting.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance across production teams.
- Support the introduction of digital tools and automation to modernise production management processes.
- Ensure production readiness for new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project teams to ensure alignment.
- Proven experience in production management, operations management, or manufacturing leadership, ideally in aerospace, defence, or complex engineering environments.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Experience with production systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Primavera, Planisware, DDMS, MES).
- Strong understanding of quality, health & safety, and regulatory requirements in a production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
