About Our Client

My client is a growing UK business who have just built a new site near Rotherham. They are looking to bring an innovative product to an expanding market and are seeking to recruit a Production Manager to help strengthen their existing leadership team. This appointment will be pivotal in developing and executing the manufacturing strategy, and so a 'can-do' attitude, the ability to think outside the box, and not being afraid to roll your sleeves up are all key characteristics that will play an important part in this role.

Job Description
  • Train, coach and develop the existing members of the Production team
  • Expand this team as demand and outputs grow
  • Be autonomously responsible for delivering across safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Develop manufacturing processes that will capitalise on product yield
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure efficiency and productivity are optimised at all times
  • Develop and implement the manufacturing strategy including a focus on
    • Key performance indicators - KPIs
    • Standard operating procedures - SOPs
    • Production department & team structures
The Successful Applicant

The successful Production Manager will have:

  • Proven experience as a Production/Manufacturing Manager with time-served in a similar role. Suitable candidates may currently be in Shift/Team Leader roles as well as Management positions
  • Ability to create procedures and processes in a new site environment where no such SOPs currently exist
  • A solution-orientated mindset and the ability to work autonomously
  • Hands-on approach whilst also being able to direct the wider manufacturing strategy
  • Experience in high-volume, low-medium complexity, continuous manufacturing
  • Any experience with setting up a production function in a new site build, factory relocation or process improvement would be advantageous
