Production Manager

As a Production Manager at our fire door manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the production process to ensure efficient and high-quality output. Leading a team of production staff, you will plan, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or woodworking industries, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch fire doors.

Location: Knowsley

Schedule:Full-Time Monday - Friday

• Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and workflows to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Work closely with the management team to establish production targets and goals.
• Optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as design, engineering, and sales, to ensure smooth production flow.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, ensuring their timely availability for production.
• Implement and enforce health and safety guidelines to create a safe working environment.
• Train, mentor, and provide guidance to production staff, ensuring their development and high performance.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to the production team.
• Resolve production issues and coordinate solutions with cross-functional teams, such as engineering and quality control.
• Continuously assess production operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to fire door production.

• Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and optimisation techniques.
• Familiarity with woodworking techniques, machinery, and related manufacturing processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate teams.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve production efficiency.
• Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficient in using production management software/systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle production challenges effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively and closely with cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands and priorities.
