Job Description
Overview

The Production Line Supervisor role in Widnes (WA8) offers a full-time, permanent position with a salary between £35,000 and £40,000, dependent on experience. You will oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the production runs safely, efficiently, and meets required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, support and coordinate the production team on a day to day basis.
  • Plan and allocate work to achieve production targets and priorities.
  • Monitor production output, downtime, labour efficiency, waste and quality issues.
  • Oversee and support the setup of filling lines, cappers, labellers, conveyors and wipes lines.
  • Optimise machine settings to improve reliability, output and line efficiency.
  • Support line changeovers, product changeovers and washouts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on day to day maintenance, adjustments and recurring machine issues.
  • Use ERP system to review work orders, stock levels and production requirements.
  • Ensure production paperwork, batch records, checks and line documentation are completed accurately.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, following site procedures for PPE, chemical handling, spill response, isolation and washout requirements.
  • Support investigations into safety incidents, near misses, quality issues and downtime.
  • Maintain good housekeeping across production lines, equipment areas and workstations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in a production, manufacturing, chemical, FMCG, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics or household products environment.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising or coordinating a production team.
  • Practical understanding of production machinery, line set up, changeovers and troubleshooting.
  • Hands on, mechanically minded with basic maintenance and fault finding skills.
  • Comfortable using ERP, stock control or production systems.
  • Good understanding of health and safety, quality standards and accurate production paperwork.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially around stock, paperwork, settings and quality.
  • Highly safety focused and able to communicate clearly with operators, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Planning and management.
