We are currently seeking a Utilities and Recovery Production Engineer to support pulp and paper production. The utilities and recovery cycle operations are crucial to Somerset's overall performance. This role offers a great opportunity to help the mill maximize equipment productivity and contribute to profitability, with potential for increased responsibilities in the Utilities and Recovery area over time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Process engineering experience with kraft chemical pulping process recovery cycle and/or utilities operations.
- Prior supervisory experience or additional responsibilities in kraft chemical pulping process recovery cycle and/or utilities operations.
- Transferable process engineering skills demonstrating potential success in this role.
- Proven performance in supervising personnel and/or managing projects.
Performance Objectives:
- The successful candidate will need to perform mass and energy balances, troubleshoot, and improve processes related to black liquor evaporator and concentrator, chemical recovery boiler, recausticizing, lime kiln operations, and utilities, including environmental equipment.
- As a key member of the Utilities & Recovery department, the candidate will collaborate with various parts of Sappi to recommend, initiate, and execute process improvements and projects.
- Desire to advance to higher levels of responsibility within the Somerset Utilities and Recovery department.
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the job's value to the organization, market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate's skills.
