This position, within the Beyond the Core platform of the Global Chocolate Technology organization in Bournville, UK, offers the opportunity towork collaboratively to unlock growth opportunitiesby applying your expertise in food science and technology. You'll be an integral part of a team dedicated toembracing consumer-led innovation excellenceand developing products that not only delight consumers but also support their well-being.

The role focuses on developing technologies to deliver elevated and delightful consumer experiences while supporting healthier snacking options. The team comprises members from both the Bournville and Thane R&D centres .

Working as part of a cross-functional team, you will deliver the RDQ activities required to complete new product/technology development, validation, and testing, with an emphasis on meeting the desired consumer experience. A nother key aspect of this role involves developing products that align with evolving nutritional guidelines, including working towards compliance with nutrient profiling models such as HFSS (High Fat, Sugar, and Salt). You'll be instrumental indelivering superior new technologies and capabilities to our commercial partners and project teams.

How you will contribute

With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organi s e and execute projects in line with RDQ, marketing, and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You'll play a key role inunlocking growth opportunitiesby ensuring our innovations are deve loped with the right ingredients and formulations to meet consumer needs and nutritional standards.

You will plan and conduct pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements, and development activities (e.g., product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation, and nutritional analysis ). You will also write technical reports that will require the analysis and interpretation of results and that lead to conclusions and recommendations and create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications . This will contribute todelivering superior new technologies and capabilitieswithin the Beyond the Core platform.

  • Identifying problems proactively and creating and implementing solutions independently and in guidance with stakeholders, whilst ensuring compliance to policies & procedures.

  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, including technical writing.

  • Putting the consumer at the heart of development activities and demonstrating an understanding of consumer trends related to health and well-being. This consumer-centric approach is key toembracing consumer-led innovation excellence.

  • Awareness of business partners and continues to build relationship network.

Education / Certifications:

Demonstrated first experience of practical application of theory in Food or engineering / scientific related discipline
