Product Design Engineer - Lighting

We are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join the team at a leading lighting manufacturer in Mitcham. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in design engineering, with specific expertise in lighting design.

1. Develop and expand the company's collection of antiques and modern reproductions with integrity and aesthetic appeal.
2. Design lighting and related products using SolidWorks.
3. Participate actively in product development processes.
4. Contribute to project management tasks.
5. Create high-quality technical drawings and CAD files for lighting and furniture components.
6. Produce detailed drawings of components, assemblies, and exploded views based on original designs.
7. Work independently and propose innovative engineering solutions for new products.
8. Adapt to fast-paced environments managing time-sensitive projects, including new collection launches and bespoke projects.
9. Understand manufacturing processes, materials, and installation techniques specific to lighting.

• Proven experience in design engineering, preferably within the lighting industry.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong skills in technical drawing and CAD file creation.
• Ability to work independently and creatively.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and installation techniques in lighting.

• Salary likely £35k-£38k depending on experience.
• Full-time position based in Mitcham.
• Working hours: 08:30-16:00 (flexible when needed).
• Bonus scheme included.
