Job Description

Procurement Purchasing Manager required for my client who work within the automotive and manufacturing industry, based in Peterborough.

The company are looking for a purchasing manager that can manage supplier relationships to ensure the acquisition of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.

The successful candidate will drive cost savings, improve supplier performance and support the company's growth and innovation objectives.

Procurement Purchasing Manager Job Overview
  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
  2. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, both domestic and international, to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  4. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans.
  5. Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
  6. Lead, mentor and develop a small purchasing team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and ethical standards.
  8. Collaborate with engineering, production and other departments to support new product development and other projects.
Procurement Purchasing Manager Job Requirements
  1. Strong experience in purchasing, procurement and ideally within the automotive manufacturing or engineering industry.
  2. Proven track record of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation and cost management.
  3. Proficiency in procurement and purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough.
Procurement Purchasing Manager Salary & Benefits
  1. Salary - £35,000 to £40,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
  2. 42.5 hours a week - Monday to Friday position.
  3. Holiday package - 28 days including bank holidays.
  4. Auto-enrolment pension scheme.
