We're working with a leading fresh food business supplying a broad customer base across the UK. As they continue to scale and diversify, they're looking for a Procurement Manager to take ownership of raw material and packaging procurement - helping to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and support operational success.

Role Responsibilities:

You'll play a central role in ensuring production has what it needs, when it needs it. That includes:

  • Procuring all raw materials and packaging, negotiating pricing, quantities, and lead times

  • Monitoring and managing tray and pallet usage, including daily hire/de-hire through customers

  • Minimising waste through smart stock control and supplier communication

  • Working closely with technical and production teams to meet spec, especially during promotions

  • Maintaining accurate procurement records and supporting compliance with packaging waste regulations (e.g., Valpak)

  • Supporting the finance team with forecasting, reporting, and budget input

  • Attending crop meetings and liaising with site supervisors to ensure smooth site-to-site logistics

Candidate Requirements:
  • A solid understanding of fresh produce or FMCG environments

  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills

  • Organised, analytical, and confident with Excel and stock systems

  • Knowledge of packaging waste regulations is a bonus, but training can be provided

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment

This is a hands-on, varied role in a business that values collaboration, adaptability, and people who take ownership.
