Job Description
A well-established Irish food manufacturer is seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing within its supply chain. The company is currently experiencing significant growth, with a major expansion underway that will greatly increase production capacity. This is an excellent opportunity to shape and develop the procurement function.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with suppliers, as well as the Technical and New Product Development (NPD) teams, ensuring that the supply chain remains robust, compliant, and efficient.
Responsibilities- Source and negotiate food ingredients, packaging, and services from suppliers in Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
- Secure competitive pricing while upholding food safety and quality standards.
- Build strong supplier relationships through regular reviews, site visits, and clear service level agreements (SLAs).
- Track supplier performance, rebates, stock usage, and cost fluctuations.
- Manage materials planning and stock levels using Excel-based Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and order matrices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to approve new materials and swiftly resolve any issues.
- Proven procurement experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, ideally within food manufacturing or processing.
- 3+ years of experience in a buyer or procurement role.
- A demonstrated track record in negotiation, cost savings, and supplier management.
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build and manage MRP plans effectively.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and compliance regulations.
- A hands-on individual who enjoys working in a close-knit team environment and is willing to roll up their sleeves.
