Procurement Manager
Location: Remote (with expected travel to Stevenage/Southampton as required)
Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella/PAYE)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Approx. 3 months initially
Sector experience essential - (Water, Energy (Gas or Electric), Telecoms and Transport (Rail/Aviation) experience is essential - must have at least one of these sectors as a Procurement Manager is mandatory)
The Company: A leading UK-based organisation operating across diverse sectors - Water, Energy, Telecoms and Transport (Rail/Aviation) experience of at least two of these sectors is essential - delivering excellence in project management, operations, and supply chain efficiency.
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team on an interim basis, driving effective sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes.
- Support business units in identifying procurement needs and developing sourcing solutions.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and external regulations.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage risks across the supply chain.
- Provide strategic advice and reporting on procurement activities and market trends.
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Strong track record of managing procurement projects from strategy to delivery.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
- Understanding of public and/or private sector procurement regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work autonomously and travel as needed to Stevenage and Southampton.
- MCIPS qualification (preferred).
- Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
