Role

As a Procurement & Housekeeper Support Operative within NHSGGC, you will play a vital role in supporting frontline clinical teams to deliver safe, high quality care for patients and families. Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will help maintain a clean, well stocked and welcoming ward environment within paediatric and neonatology services. This is a varied and hands on role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day. • Monday to Friday
• Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe and well organised ward environment, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention are consistently met
• Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, storing and rotating supplies in line with clinical demand
• Support procurement activities by sourcing equipment and liaising with suppliers, stores and internal teams
• Monitor catering and kitchen areas to ensure food hygiene standards are upheld and patient needs are met
• Assist with auditing, stock checks and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with procurement teams
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients and visitors, providing support and information within the ward environment
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to service development and efficient ward operations

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

• Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare or similar environment with an understanding of ward based working
• Knowledge of cleaning practices, infection control and maintaining high standards of environmental hygiene
• Experience or understanding of stock control, supply chain processes and basic procurement activities
• Good IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and stock management systems
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer care and teamwork
• Awareness of health and safety, food hygiene, COSHH regulations and confidentiality within a healthcare setting
