Probation Services Officer works with medium and lower risk offenders, managing a caseload before and after sentence. You will assess risk, implement sentences, support offenders, and produce reports.
Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of offenders before and after sentence.
- Assess and manage risks and provide information to courts.
- Work closely with agencies throughout the justice system.
- Provide practical advice on housing, employment and other support to help offenders turn their lives around.
- Produce clear, accurate reports within tight deadlines.
- Empathy, patience, resilience and strong organisational skills.
- Experience working with people who have social or personal difficulties is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to produce concise reports.
- No degree is required; personal qualities and experience are most important.
Starting salary £26,475, with annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF). New entrants join at the minimum of the pay band.
