Team Lead - Private Markets Investment Controlling

A leading investment management firm is seeking an experienced Team Lead - Private Markets Investment Controlling to join its Financial Operations function.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced private markets professional with a strong background in investment controlling, fund operations and team management. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with people leadership, overseeing a high performing team while driving operational excellence and strategic initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day to day investment controlling function, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of NAV reviews, performance reporting and investor reporting.
• Review and approve work completed by team members, maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and consistency.
• Provide technical oversight on complex transactions, fund valuations and cash flow activity, offering guidance on investment controlling matters.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues involving fund administrators, auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on performance, engagement and career progression.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen controls and support automation across the investment operations function.
• Collaborate with technology and cross functional teams to implement system enhancements and improve operational scalability.
• Support senior leadership in prioritising key initiatives, decision making and the successful execution of strategic objectives.
• Contribute to business transformation projects, including platform enhancements, new product launches and changes to accounting or valuation frameworks.

Candidate Profile

• 15+ years' experience within private equity, private credit, fund accounting, investment controlling or private markets operations.
• Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to motivate, coach and develop high performing teams.
• At least 8 years' experience managing teams, including performance management, mentoring and career development.
• Extensive knowledge of private equity and private credit fund structures, including oversight of third party administrators and governance requirements.
• Strong technical expertise with the ability to interpret complex fund transactions, valuations and reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
• Highly organised, detail oriented and capable of making sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis as required.
