Personal Tax Senior
- Location: Harrow
- Job Type: Full-time
REED Practice are seeking a Tax Senior to join a dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who is client-facing, deadline-oriented, and eager to advance their career in tax services across various industry sectors. The successful candidate will work towards attaining professional qualifications such as ATT, ACCA, or CTA, and will have the opportunity to handle complex tax-related tasks while being supported in their studies.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a mixed portfolio of private client and corporate taxation under supervision.
- Provide proactive tax advice and technical tax support to managers, partners, colleagues, and clients.
- Engage in tax planning and handle one-off technical projects.
- Prepare Self-Assessment tax returns and ensure compliance with tax processing.
- Calculate Capital Gains Tax and prepare P11D Returns, ATEDs, and Corporation tax returns and computations.
- Review returns prepared by trainee colleagues, support trainee development, and liaise with clients regarding their tax liabilities.
- Assist with HM Revenue & Customs' enquiries and client enquiries.
- Participate in meetings with clients, HM Revenue & Customs, and other third parties.
- Contribute to fee proposals for work and assist with project management of client assignments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Initiative, professionalism, and confidence.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and tax authorities.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- High standard of computer literacy and ability to adapt to new systems.
- Understanding of Tax is desirable but not necessary as training and study support will be provided.
- Currently studying for a professional qualification (ATT, ACCA, or CTA) is preferred.
- Ability to balance workload with the pressures of studying for a professional qualification.
