Job Description
Private Client Solicitor Warrington 2+ PQE Douglas Scott Global Recruitment is currently working with a well-established regional law firm in Warrington that is looking to appoint a Private Client Solicitor (2+ PQE) to join its friendly and experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Private Client lawyer seeking a varied role with genuine client contact, responsibility across the full spectrum of private client work, and the chance to contribute to business development within a supportive environment.The Role You will manage a broad caseload of private client matters, including:Estate Administration
  • Managing the administration of estates from start to finish
  • Preparing and applying for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
  • Completing and submitting inheritance tax, income tax and capital gains tax forms
  • Collecting and realising estate assets, settling liabilities and distributing estates
  • Preparing estate and distribution accounts
  • Advising on tax planning and preparing Deeds of Variation
Wills & Estate Planning
  • Taking client instructions and providing tailored estate planning advice
  • Assessing client capacity where required
  • Advising on inheritance tax and tax mitigation strategies
  • Drafting and supervising the execution of simple and complex wills
  • Handling applications for statutory wills where necessary
Trusts & Tax
  • Advising clients on trust structures and tax implications
  • Drafting trust documentation and providing ongoing trust advice
Powers of Attorney
  • Advising clients on Lasting Powers of Attorney and related matters
  • Drafting LPAs and assisting with registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney
  • Acting as Certificate Provider where appropriate
Elderly Client Work
  • Advising and assisting elderly clients with their personal and financial affairs
  • Managing finances under Powers of Attorney where required
  • Providing guidance on benefits and funding options, including social care considerations
Court of Protection
  • Making applications for Deputyship and other Court orders
  • Complying with Court directions and preparing accounts for the Court
  • Managing ongoing affairs of protected parties
You will also have the opportunity to support business development initiatives, helping to build and strengthen the firm's private client offering.About You
  • Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years' PQE in Private Client work
  • Experience across the full range of private client matters
  • Strong IT skills and comfortable working in a paper-light environment
  • Organised with excellent client care skills
  • An interest in contributing to business development
