Job Description

A well-respected and long-established local law firm is seeking a motivated Private Client Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join its busy and friendly Private Client Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to build a long-term career within private client law while gaining hands-on experience across a varied caseload.

Working alongside experienced fee earners, you will play a key role in supporting clients through important life events, including estate planning, wills, probate matters and lasting powers of attorney.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the preparation of Wills, Trust documentation and other private client matters
  • Drafting and submitting Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) and Probate applications
  • Supporting the administration of estates from start to completion
  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, government bodies and third-party organisations
  • Managing telephone enquiries and arranging client appointments
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring files progress efficiently
  • Obtaining information and documentation from relevant organisations and agencies
  • Providing administrative and legal support across a broad range of private client matters
  • Delivering exceptional client care at every stage of the legal process
About You

The successful private client paralegal will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience within a legal support, legal assistant or paralegal role (Private Client experience advantageous)
  • A genuine interest in Wills, Probate, Estate Administration and Private Client law
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and excellent attention to detail
  • A professional, compassionate and client-focused approach
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines within a busy environment
  • Confidence when communicating with clients in person, over the telephone and in writing
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
  • Experience using audio or digital dictation systems would be beneficial but is not essential
