Prison Officer - HMP Bullingdon

We are recruiting Prison officers for HMP Bullingdon, located in Bicester, South East. This role protects the public and positively influences prisoners' lives. The position is full time, 39 hour week (including 20% unsocial) with an annual salary of £40,316. The role requires a commitment to teamwork, security and care for people from diverse backgrounds.
ResponsibilitiesAs a prison officer you will keep the prison safe, maintain discipline, support prisoners' rehabilitation and manage daily operations. This includes:
- Monitoring and controlling prisoner movement
- Providing counselling, teaching and therapeutic support where appropriate
- Responding to incidents and maintaining security protocols
- Taking an active role in resilience, teamwork and communication with colleagues
- Working various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
To be considered you must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old at the commencement of employment
- Show the integrity, skills, strength of character and resilience outlined above
- Pass a medical and fitness assessment, including eyesight and hearing checks
- Have a suitable hearing standard if the role is safety critical
- Possess any required tattoos and facial tattoo policy compliance
- Meet the Civil Service nationality requirements and be eligible to work in the UK
- For category A high security prisons, have lived in the UK for the last 3 years

- 37 hours a week = £38,428 a year
- 39 hours a week = £40,316 a year
- 41 hours a week = £42,834 a year
The initial training period is 37 hours per week. After training you can choose to work 37, 39 or 41 hours per week. Your annual salary will reflect your weekly hours.
