We're seeking an experienced Principal Transport Officer to lead our work on transport monitoring, data collection, and modelling. This senior role provides expert transport planning services to support the City's Local Transport Plan, major schemes, and strategic policies. You will manage a skilled team delivering the transport data and modelling that underpin investment decisions and shape the city's future network.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the North Staffordshire Transport Model, commissioning consultancy studies, and providing technical advice on schemes, developments, and masterplans.
  • Develop and apply modelling techniques (TRIPS, CUBE, COBA, TUBA, TEMPRO, TRICS) and ensure data quality through effective survey and monitoring programmes.
  • Lead on transport monitoring, data collection and modelling to support investment decisions and the city's connectivity and growth.
Qualifications
  • Qualified transport professional (degree in transport planning, civil engineering, town planning or related field, with relevant professional membership) with extensive experience in urban transport planning, monitoring, and modelling.
  • Experience in managing staff and budgets, interpreting complex data, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
