TheRadar Software Team:
You will be working as a Principal Systems Engineerwithin our close-knit multi-function radar team ofinter-disciplinary engineers, evolving our radar portfolio ofexisting and brand-new radar products to address emerging andfuture threats in the realm of Future AirDominance.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to enhanceyour skills and invest in your career journey within a globalbusiness. You will be supported in growing your knowledge incontemporary and cutting-edge Radar techniques, with opportunitiesto develop your skills and responsibilities in technicalleadership.
In this role, you will be able to enjoy bothflexible and hybrid working arrangements. However, because of theimportance and security classification of the projects you will beinvolved in, there will be a regular requirement for you to work onsite so you can collaborate closely with the rest of yourteam.
Our workplace in Cowes is an easily accessiblecommute from Southampton with a regular foot passenger ferry andBAE shuttle service from the ferry terminal tosite.

- Develop novel solutions to evolving technicalchallenges and emerging issues for complex Multi-Function RadarSystems that our customers and end-user communities arefacing Apply abreadth of knowledge, skills and experience of Systems Engineeringprinciples, techniques and governance to steer and developtechnical solutions and resolve engineeringissues Conductsystem design analysis to manage trade-offs of system parameters tocharacterise and specify robust productdesign Lead thedecomposition of requirements to system and sub-system level andmanage these in an approved toolset such as IBM DOORSNext Be atechnical focus point with a holistic understanding of a wholesystem solution leading analysis activities and system designdecisions and providing guidance to ownteam Collaborate with specialists across differentengineering disciplines including electronics, electrical,mechanical and software to direct and realise overarching systemdesign solutions
- Direct andundertake system integration, test planning andexecution Define andarticulate system acceptance strategies and acceptance evidencedemonstrating system performance across a wide range of operationalscenarios to internal and externalstakeholders Throughthese activities you will build your personal profile with seniorstakeholders and grow a diverse knowledge base inengineering
Yourskills and experiences:
Essential:
- A good understanding in some of the followingsubject areas; signal processing, target track extraction, objectclassification algorithms, system and sensor resourceoptimisation A goodunderstanding of factors that can affect the real-world performanceof sensing systems and how these can impact the accuracy andtimeliness of measurements in order to meet challenging designobjectives andrequirements Demonstrates understanding and experience ofSystems Engineering which could include knowledge of SystemsEngineering standards (e.g., ISO15288) Experienceof presenting both technical and non-technical information in aformal setting
