This role is the senior technical authority for SAP across Kingfisher. You shape the platform's engineering standards, define its long-term technical direction, and ensure SAP remains modern, scalable, secure, and aligned to our cloud-first strategy.

You operate across all functional domains (Finance, HR, Reporting, Supply, Retail) and platform enablement teams to keep SAP coherent, future-ready, and integrated with the wider technology landscape.

Responsibilities
  • Define and embed SAP engineering standards, patterns and best practices.
  • Own SAP's technical direction and ensure alignment across domains and platform teams.
  • Represent SAP in architecture and governance forums to ensure platform coherence.
  • Lead the SAP technology roadmap in line with enterprise architecture and cloud strategy.
  • Modernise SAP components including integrations, GCP optimisation, BTP and security.
  • Partner with Integration, Data, Cloud, Security and Operations on end-to-end platform fit.
  • Track emerging SAP and industry capabilities and assess relevance for Kingfisher.
  • Drive API-first, event-driven and cloud-ready engineering approaches.
  • Ensure solution designs follow agreed technical standards and platform direction.
  • Act as senior technical counterpart to Solution Architects and Principal Engineers.
  • Partner with Product and Banners to align their plans with SAP strategy.
  • Mentor SAP engineers and uplift overall engineering maturity.
Qualifications
  • Broad knowledge of SAP modules, processes and impacts of configuration/ABAP decisions.
  • Strong understanding of SAP technical components and ability to guide technical decisions.
  • Solid experience with SAP on cloud infrastructure (ideally GCP).
  • Experience shaping SAP technical roadmaps and modernisation initiatives.
  • Good understanding of integration patterns and SAP's role in the wider ecosystem.
  • Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
  • Clear communicator able to simplify complex topics.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineers.
