Your Role

Reporting to the Head of Product, you will take ownership of key digital initiatives across our Newsroom to help shape the future of one of Britain's most iconic brands. You will act as the primary strategic bridge between editorial ambition, commercial requirements, and engineering capacity, ensuring our digital platforms remain robust, scalable, & future ready. This is a leadership position where you will inspire a team of product managers to deliver impactful digital experiences to millions of readers.

Day to day You Will
  • Deliver a clear and impactful vision for digital products in alignment with wider business goals and audience needs.
  • Enhance newsroom capabilities by optimising editorial workflows to enable the quick delivery of multiformat content.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and deliver their best work.
  • Establish a robust data framework for internal tools, using usage metrics to prioritise high value features and manage technical debt.
  • Drive the practical integration of AI and emerging technologies directly into the publishing workflow to augment journalist capabilities.
  • Solve complex problems with creativity to maintain alignment between business objectives and user needs.
What We're Looking For From You
  • Experience delivering successful products in an audience focused, digital first environment.
  • Experience working across content curation and distribution platforms like WordPress, with a deep understanding of enterprise scale ecosystems and technical trade offs.
  • Leadership skills used to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation while guiding a team of product managers.
  • Subject matter expertise in publishing or media environments, specifically regarding newsroom processes and content planning.
  • Communication skills used to bridge the gap between technical and non technical teams when managing complex stakeholder requirements.
  • Analytical mindset used to interpret data to prioritise initiatives and measure the success of product features.
  • Agile proficiency applied to leading cross functional teams to deliver high quality outcomes in a fast paced environment.
