Principal Product Design Engineer

We are partnering with a Co. Galway client who are looking to hire a Principal Product Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of innovative electromechanical products from concept through to launch. This opportunity arises due to continued expansion and is a critical hire for the business.

Responsibilities

• Own product requirements, specifications, and system architecture
• Lead design control, risk management, and verification/validation activities
• Manage external engineering partners and approve technical deliverables
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on programme milestones
• Support innovation, platform development, and technical strategy

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or related field
• 10+ years' experience in R&D/NPD (medical device or similar regulated industry preferred)
• Strong knowledge of design controls, FMEA, and relevant standards (e.g. ISO 13485)
• Experience with electromechanical systems advantageous
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Able to operate in a fast-paced, global environment
