Principal Platform Architect

Our client, a leading organisation in the technology sector, is seeking a Principal Platform Architect to provide strategic architectural leadership across its platform landscape. This permanent role will focus on designing scalable, secure and resilient technology platforms that support long-term business and engineering objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defining and developing platform architecture strategies aligned with business and technology goals
• Designing scalable, secure and reliable technology platforms and services
• Establishing architecture principles, standards and governance frameworks
• Evaluating emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for platform improvement
• Working closely with engineering, product, security and infrastructure teams to deliver effective solutions
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to architects and engineering professionals
• Reviewing architectural decisions, identifying risks and recommending appropriate solutions
• Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in technology architecture, platform architecture or a closely related discipline
• Strong understanding of enterprise platforms, cloud technologies, distributed systems and infrastructure
• Proven ability to create and communicate technical architecture strategies and roadmaps
• Understanding of security, resilience, scalability and performance considerations
• Experience with architecture governance, technical standards and design assurance
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to provide strategic technical direction while supporting practical delivery
• Relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience in technology, computing or engineering
