Principal Highway Designer

Senior/Principal Highway Designer
Position in Basingstoke, London or Hampshire
£50K to £65k + package

My client is seeking an enthusiastic Senior/Principal Highway Designer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in highway design to join our growing team and assist delivering development planning projects across the country.

• Preparing concept and preliminary stage highway link and junction designs, active travel corridors, and traffic calming schemes;
• Producing swept path analysis and vehicle tracking;
• Input into technical reports including site access appraisals, Stage 1 Road Safety Audit briefs and Designer's Responses and S278 Preliminary Design Check Submissions;

Applicants should be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and have the following:

• Experience in the use of Civil3D;
• Good knowledge of highway design guidance including MfS, DMRB, and LTN 1/20;
• Proficient in the use of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions and Traffic Signs Manual;
• Experience of S278/S38 Agreements;
• Knowledge of SPONS Civil Engineering and Highway Works;
• Knowledge of traffic modelling and its influence on highway design;
• Professional qualifications, i.e. EngTech / IEng / CEng; and
• ICE / CIHT / CILT membership.

The role provides an opportunity for candidates to be involved in a number of diverse development related transport projects, varying in scale and nature ensuring an interesting workload.
