The Sub SystemsEngineeringTeam:
Youwill be working in a sub systems engineering team, helping us todesign, develop, integrate, manage and support control systems forin-service/future submarines. Working within the AVC team on highintegrity control systems that control the submarine platformmanoeuvrability elements. This role will involve utilising yourengineering knowledge to define detailed IV&V and C&Iengineering activities and you will be reporting directly to theengineering manager on the delivery of thesetasks.
As wemove towards a model-based approach to Engineering, our SystemsEngineers will continue to develop a wide-range of skills andexperience across all areas and disciplines and we are able tooffer real opportunities for personal and teamdevelopment.

- Provide expert system and designknowledge to support the definition of detailed engineering taskand activity backlogs Facilitate, manage and runscrums/sprints Apply your knowledge of agile workingfor efficient management and delivery support to the engineeringschedule of work Identify, define and prioritise workpackages aligning to the schedules Support short, medium and long termprogramme planning via backlog development
- Ensuring a sound theoretical andpractical approach to engineering activities isupheld
- Daily progress tracking, reporting andproducing performance metrics Contribute to project/initiativestrategy and methodology There will be opportunity to line manage, coach andmentor otherengineers
Yourskills and experiences:
Essential:
- Good understanding of C&I/Electricalsystems design and demonstrable career experience with thesesystems
- Degree level qualification (orequivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/Physics/ Maths/ Science) Experience in engineering systems designand test
- Knowledge of working in an agilemethodology and appropriate tool sets such as Jira /Confluence
- Awareness of Defence Standards andIndustry standards Project managementexperience
- Be a chartered engineer or workingtowards this level
