Principal Opportunity - Harrow - SEN College

We are seeking an inspirational, strategic, and compassionate Principal to lead a specialist provision for young people aged 16 to 25 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those who are vulnerable or facing significant life challenges, particularly learners on the autism spectrum.

The Role

As Principal, you will provide clear strategic leadership and oversee all aspects of educational and operational performance. You will champion excellence in teaching and learning, safeguard student wellbeing, inspire staff, and ensure every learner receives the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership aligned to the organisation's values and mission
  • Drive outstanding outcomes for learners with SEN and additional needs
  • Create an inclusive, safe, and aspirational culture
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a multidisciplinary staff team
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, quality assurance, and regulatory standards
  • Build strong relationships with families, local authorities, employers, and external partners
  • Oversee financial sustainability and strategic growth
About You
  • Proven senior leadership experience in education, ideally within SEN, FE, or specialist settings
  • A strong understanding of autism, vulnerability, and complex learner needs
  • A track record of improving quality, outcomes, and organisational performance
  • Outstanding people leadership and communication skills
  • Deep commitment to inclusion, opportunity, and learner-centred practice
  • Relevant teaching and leadership qualifications (or equivalent experience)
