Primary Teaching Assistant

About the Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range. You will play a vital role in helping to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
• Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
• Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and activities
• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND
• Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
• Supervising pupils during break times, school trips, and other activities as required

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with primary-aged children (in a school or similar setting)
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Is patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic
• Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
• Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential
