Veritas Education is excited to partner with a welcoming, inclusive primary school in Southwark to recruit a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team after the Easter break.

This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is well-known for its supportive environment, prioritising pupils' academic achievements, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO, providing both 1:1 and small-group support to help students access the curriculum, build their confidence, and develop positive relationships.

This role is perfect for a patient, proactive, and empathetic individual who is passionate about helping children - including those with additional needs - thrive in a nurturing primary school setting.

The Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant Will Have:

• Proven experience supporting children in a primary school environment

• Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour

• A calm, caring, and resilient approach, especially when working with pupils with additional needs

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

Main Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering personalised 1:1 and small-group interventions

• Assisting the class teacher with differentiated classroom activities

• Promoting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development

• Using creative strategies to engage and support learning

• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO

• Helping to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
