Job Description

Dunstable Icknield Lower School is looking to appoint an experienced, motivated and inspirational Primary Teacher to join our friendly and supportive staff. The successful applicant would be expected to work closely with the senior and middle leaders.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher with proven classroom experience, who has high aspirations of pupils and is reflective, committed and passionate about children's learning. This position is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the school at the beginning of its journey as part of a multi-academy trust. Staff at Dunstable Icknield benefit from shared professional development opportunities, collaborative practices, and the expertise of colleagues at Priory Academy, which is also part of the same trust. Priory Academy is the school that most of our Year 4 pupils transition to upon leaving.

Applications are invited from candidates who:

  • Have a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning
  • Strive to provide exciting and innovative learning experiences for children
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour
  • Are highly motivated and professionally ambitious
  • Are fun, flexible team members who develop excellent relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
  • Are passionate about being part of a diverse and inclusive school

The school is part of Scholars' Education Trust (SET), an established, cross phase, multi-academy trust formed in 2012. SET has enjoyed measured growth, ensuring maximum educational impact alongside school, a primary school, an extended secondary, two secondary schools and an all-through school.

This is a great time to join SET. We are a growing trust with a proven record of school improvement and a strong moral purpose.

Declaration of criminal offences

The trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not 'protected' as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed you will be required to have an up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate.
