We are looking for a talented KS2-3 Transition Teacher to work within our Learning Support Department, providing specialised teaching to meet the needs of our SEND students.
Working closely with our SENCO the successful candidate will preferably be primary and trained or specifically KS2-3 trained in English or Maths.
To further develop the provision for SEND students, the successful candidate will:
• Teach students in in Key Stage 3 across a range of subjects.
• In conjunction with the SENDCo, deliver targeted evidence based SEND interventions and contribute to EHCPs and student passports.
• Contribute to training opportunities for teaching assistants and teachers to learn about SEND
• Disseminate good practice in SEND across the school.
• Be a dynamic, creative, inclusive teacher, with a flair for numeracy and literacy.
• Likely be primary / KS3 trained and will have a passion for teaching students with SEN, adept at adaptive teaching to ensure all students reach their potential.
• Be able to motivate and inspire students to succeed in their studies and reach their full potential.
• Understand the principles of effective assessment and adapt your teaching accordingly.
• Be a reflective and adaptable teacher who can maintain excellent discipline within the classroom.
• Be a firm believer that background is not a barrier to outcomes and you will have high aspirations for all our students.
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with students and their parents or carers.
• Plan, implement, deliver and review high quality lessons that meet the individual needs of the students and are in line with an agreed programme of study at KS3.
• Ensure that students make effective progress towards their target grades through high- quality teaching and learning.
• Contribute to departmental and school data tracking systems and the analysis of data to inform future target setting and planning.
• Have high expectations for all students, to deepen their knowledge and understanding and to maximise their achievement.
• Be accountable for the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
• Demonstrate a commitment to your own professional development and will be keen to improve your practice by being an active participant in the whole-school Teaching and Learning team.
