Job Description
Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant X3

Could a broad classroom role in primary school be the right first step before teacher training? Want a post where you can support pupils properly and build experience across either KS1 or KS2?

Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant X3

£85 - £105 per day

September 2026 - July 2027

Primary school, Wolverhampton

General TA support in either KS1 or KS2

The Role:

Take on a varied support role across either KS1 or KS2, working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and as part of whole-class learning. You will help children stay on task, support lesson activities, reinforce reading, writing, and number work, and prepare simple classroom resources. Teaching assistants support teachers in the classroom and help children with reading, writing and learning activities.

The Candidate:

You are adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working with different pupils across the school day. You explain things clearly, stay positive when lessons get busy, and want school experience that gives you a realistic understanding of classroom life before moving into teacher training and a future in teaching.

Requirements
  • Degree - A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children - Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Career Goals - A desire to train as a teacher and build a long term career in education.
The School:

This primary school in Wolverhampton is looking to appoint three graduates who can become reliable members of the wider staff team. You will gain broad experience across either KS1 or KS2 in a setting where classroom support is valued and pupils benefit from targeted help throughout the school day. DBS guidance states that roles involving work with children are eligible for an Enhanced DBS check in the child workforce, and some regulated activity roles can also require a Children's Barred List check.
