Job Description
Job Summary

We have an exciting part time opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join the Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a Category B prison in Fazakerley, Liverpool. The role involves working across the healthcare department, planned care services, prison wings and emergency response.

Hours
  • Monday Sunday service - 22.5 hours per week
  • Shift options: 7 am 3 pm or 1 pm 8 pm over 3 days
  • One weekend per three week rotation
  • Rota available two months in advance
  • Very occasional nights
Salary

Annual salary up to £34,428 - £41,658 per annum FTE, pro rata depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work within a multi disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and conduct reception screening.
  • Deliver nurse led clinics to the patient group, supported by the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care, listening to and acting on patient feedback for personalised care.
  • Deliver non judgemental care that makes a real difference.
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to promote best practice, clinical supervision and continuous quality improvement.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) - NMC registration.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi disciplinary and multi agency working.
  • A non judgemental and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (desired).
