About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Skilled Prison Nurse with an interest in primary care to join our team Forth Valley Prisons. Our ethos is to deliver trauma informed, person centred, safe & effective care to our patients.

The team is currently undertaking new and exciting opportunities within the Primary Care nursing role. You will deliver high quality care and treatment within this unique environment, working in partnership with The Scottish Prison Service, and wider agencies. You will be a vital part of a holistic service, making a significant contribution to the health care needs, outcomes and experience of a complex and vulnerable population.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality care and treatment within a unique environment for a complex and vulnerable population.
  • Work in partnership with The Scottish Prison Service and wider agencies.
  • Be part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Work autonomously with a high level of clinical decision making skills.
  • Support the development of a modern and innovative healthcare service.
Requirements
  • First level registered nurse with a desire to develop and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery; posts may be subject to rotation.
  • Member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
Benefits

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

Certificate of Sponsorship may be available subject to the role meeting the minimum salary threshold and other criteria. Applicants who require sponsorship should review eligibility criteria for Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes. NHS Forth Valley may offer sponsorship for certain roles on a case by case basis after interview and pre employment checks.
