IT Support Engineer (RRP) Primary Care Focus

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00

Travel Required: Yes. Full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle essential

Are you a skilled IT professional with a passion for hands-on support and infrastructure upgrades? Join our dynamic LHIS team as an IT Support Engineer, where you'll play a key role in delivering second and third line support across the Primary Care estate in LLR.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Replacing desktop PCs and server infrastructure across GP practices
  • Supporting practice closures, refurbishments, and new builds
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues on-site
  • Ensuring incidents and requests are resolved within SLAs
  • Keeping accurate records of work, assets, and configurations
  • Collaborating with practice staff to minimise disruption during IT changes
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver on-site IT support and equipment replacement, specifically for desktop PCs and server infrastructure
  • Support practice closures, refurbishments, and new builds, ensuring timely and efficient IT setup and decommissioning
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure all incidents and requests are resolved within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, assets replaced, and configurations applied
  • Liaise with practice staff and stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption during replacements and infrastructure changes
What We're Looking For
  • Strong technical knowledge of desktop PCs, servers, and peripherals
  • Proven experience in 2nd/3rd line support roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, varied environment

  • Flexibility for early starts/late finishes depending on site access
  • Travel across LLR is a core part of the role
